Our names are Samantha
Coppaway, Jennifer Jones
and Cassandra Taylor and we are the
Youth CAP Workers for Curve Lake First Nation (2007/2008). The Curve Lake CAP program
is
designed to provide free internet services and computer access to all
community members. Free computer and internet access is currently available at the
Curve Lake Drop-In Center, Curve Lake Employment Resource Centre and the
Curve Lake
Library. Follow the coloured links for information on
their hours.
The Curve
Lake Employment Resource Centre has 6 computers for use of community
members. All computers have internet access, and have Microsoft Office
2000 installed for things like word-processing, making a database, using a
spreadsheet, or making a calendar or brochure. There are also many job postings
and lots of help with things like resumes, cover letters, etc.
The Curve
Lake Library has 3 computers with high speed internet access and has
similar
versions of Microsoft Office for word processing, and other similar
applications. They also have a variety of applications that help with printing
off real life photos.
The Curve Lake
Youth Drop-In Center has 3 computers for use.
Currently all are connected to the internet. These computers have Microsoft Office
2000.
We also have a scanner for scanning and printing pictures.
Each Sunday we will host a Computer Fun Workshop.
This workshop is designed to provide a fun environment to learn about computers. The workshop
will run from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Youth Drop-In Center. This workshop
is open to all community members, and is only $5.00 to register.
