We invite you to visit our community, located in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes Region. Our community is situated on a peninsula between Chemong and Buckhorn Lakes. Visitors are encouraged to actively participate and experience the beauty of the area and discover our unique cultural heritage.

  Village Tours
Curve Lake is a small village with a population of approximately 740 people. The community is modern with all the amenities of a small town. Visitors can view our many advances of infrastructure and services, points of interest and historical locations.

                                                                  

  Our Cultural Centre

Visitors can tour the Curve Lake Cultural Centre to view the living history of the community. This includes a collection of ash baskets handcrafted by local people, a wild rice gathering display, learn about smoke tan hide method.

 Workshops and Seminars given by Elders and Traditional People. Local storytellers and resource people will share Curve Lake's extraordinary history, cultural teachings or the Aboriginal political system, both local and national, and its impact on the Canadian government system.

Curve Lake Powwow
Visitors are welcome to participate in the Curve Lake Annual Powwow and enjoy traditional foods, dances, songs and stories.

Fine Shops, open year round.
First Nation members make and sell traditional paintings, clothing such as vests, moccasins and gloves, bead and leather work, sculpture and many other gift items. In addition, Curve Lake is home to internationally acknowledged artists such as
David Johnson, Norman Knott,  Alice Williams. Some of our shops, such as Whetung's Ojibway Art and Crafts Gallery and Pogadakamagizowin maintain a web presence as well.   
      
    
 
  Annual Arts and Craft Sale
The annual Art & Christmas Craft Sale is scheduled for Sunday, November 19, 2006 at the Community Centre. This is a wonderful opportunity to view the works of many of our local artists and artisans, and do some early Christmas shopping.

  Restaurants
No visit is complete without a good meal. Between Chad's Open Kitchen and Rosie's, you can feast on anything from traditional foods like corn soup and fry-bread to Canadian foods like pizza and fries.

  Fishing Guide Service
 Many visitors from the city are fishing enthusiasts or amateur anglers. Aboriginal fishing guides are available to take you out to the lakes for a successful fishing adventure.
